Pros

Justlife has a strong market presence and works on real production systems, but internal management practices around performance evaluation, SLAs, workload expectations, and employee treatment significantly impact morale, trust, and mental well-being. • Recognized brand with regional presence • Exposure to large-scale production environments • Talented and hardworking engineers

Cons

The most concerning issues relate to performance management, KPIs, leadership decisions, workload expectations, and job security. The company follows a forced ranking model, where a fixed percentage of employees must fall into the lowest performance category every cycle, regardless of how well the team is actually performing. Even when most employees meet or exceed expectations, some are still labeled as low performers purely due to relative comparison rather than objective criteria. KPIs are often unrealistic and inconsistently applied, with limited consideration for task complexity, dependencies, or operational constraints. Employees are evaluated against each other instead of being measured against clear, role-specific benchmarks, which discourages collaboration and creates constant pressure. There are also serious issues with how production SLAs are handled. Engineers are required to commit ETAs for planned tasks, yet unplanned production SLAs are assigned during the same time window. Since it is impossible to predict how many SLAs will arise, employees are later marked as failing commitments despite giving realistic ETAs initially. This sets employees up for failure rather than success. Workload expectations are extremely high. Employees are often required to work late nights and weekends to meet delivery and SLA expectations. Despite these extended hours and personal sacrifices, performance feedback frequently remains negative, creating a sense that efforts are never sufficient. This ongoing pressure and lack of recognition contribute directly to burnout and mental health challenges among employees. From a management perspective, decisions feel top-down and heavily metrics-driven, with limited transparency or empathy. Feedback cycles often feel predetermined rather than supportive or developmental. Additionally, job security is a major concern. Employees may be terminated on very short notice, sometimes as little as one day, which creates fear and instability across teams and further damages trust.
