Great if you’re a ‘drink the koolaid’ type
Pros
The company offers solid benefits and reliable, consistent hours. I also had the opportunity to work with some genuinely great coworkers, which made day-to-day tasks more enjoyable.
Cons
The work environment can be quite toxic due to noticeable favouritism. Employees are often promoted into roles they aren’t qualified for before fully learning the positions they’re already in. This sometimes results in less-experienced individuals being advanced over those who have the skills and experience to do the job effectively. Although the company frequently highlights its “employee-first” and “community-focused” values, the reality is that corporate priorities come first. That in itself isn’t a problem—most companies are ultimately driven by profit—but it would be more honest and respectful to employees if this were communicated transparently. There are opportunities for advancement in Prince George not remote locations. Expect a lot of unpaid mandatory online annual training and volunteer work in your free time outside of work hours.
