Pros

Working with the families was a privilege and some staff were very supportive.

Cons

The organizational culture is poor, and that feeds into the wider teams. You can feel very isolated and very undervalued as a result. This is potentially related to a reliance on measuring input and output of hours according to variable contracts which are often uncertain. There is also quite poor lines of communication, which add to this sense of isolation. When raising issues, some change would occur but this would not be followed up in the long term and would drop by the way-side.

Pros

Great management support. Great support from team and wider organisation, everyone is very approachable and friendly. Great training programme and support to develop in different areas within the organisation. Rewarding job supporting young people and their families. Job is flexible as long as you can be flexible too.

Cons

Evening and weekend work, last minute changes to day due to the nature of the support provided to families.

Pros

Getting out of that sick environment The young people were amazing

Cons

Where do I start, I had a colleague accuse me of taking drugs. Assaulted by same colleague in front of manager who did nothing. Repeatedly reported situations to manager, HR who done nothing. Ended up taking matters into my own hands and whistleblowing which landed me with a SSSC investigation (which i ended up winning) when I moved employment. Caused me so much mental distress. Colleague in question was a bully hiding behind a nice exterior. They need mental help and so does includem for allowing that behaviour to be acceptable. I actively inform people not to work for them. Save yourself the mental and emotional stress if you want to do good and work for young people, this is not the place!!
