Pros
Impres adopted a work from home structure long before the pandemic, so they beat a lot of companies right out of the gate.
Cons
The cons are extensive, so this list is not exhaustive. Here are some of the biggest ones: - favouritism and/or nepotism dictates every single action taken by this company - any and all ideas presented to the higher-ups are either completely disregarded or are stolen without any credit given and presented as their own - absolutely no opportunities for growth - rampant burnout culture, with the highest turnover rate I have ever seen - very little flexibility to allow for a reasonable work life balance - blatant refusal to accommodate, even where required by law - intense micro-managing - compensation package consists of an annual salary and the smallest amount of vacation as required by law (no health/dental, stock options, etc) - raises based on merit are never given, and COL raises are one quarter of inflation rates
- Former Employee★★★★★

A Very honest review from long term employee
Mar. 29, 2022 - Pharmaceuticals Sales RepresentativeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Please note: how this company was when I started is entirely different from how it was operating when I left. Pros: Foot in the door to the pharma industry ; Represent well known companies; managers don’t check in often with you so must be self sufficient; represent both rx and otc products
Cons
Flat rate for travel no matter where you work- doesn’t fully cover fuel and parking, you’re paid the same for gas/ parking as people in other provinces and this rate remained the same despite gas price increases over the years. They don’t account at all for wear and tear on your own vehicle - and you drive close to 2000 km a month. They have you represent multiple contracts and have you go to specific pharmacies for one contract at a time; increase work load, but decrease your pay. They give you a monthly bonus based off of your performance, but don’t track KPI’s (which it’s supposed to be measured off of) and can’t show you anything concrete if you want to see rankings and performance feedback. Annual bonus were so disorganized that they paid it out five months after originally promised ( used to supplement a missing paycheck in December at year end). You don’t work for most of December so you go without a pay check. No medical or dental coverage either. Technology is outdated and constantly malfunctioning mid work day setting you behind and wasting your gas. Pay is incredibly below industry standards, working out to be minimum wage at best ( sometimes you’re paid $12 for a half hour visit to a pharmacy). Monthly target objectives often delivered 2-3 weeks into the month, so you really don’t know how many stores to visit each day. If you book vacation time off, they just increase your target objectives the month prior and after so you’re twice as busy those months instead. Management turns over very quickly - 11 team managers in 4.5 years. They changed our contracts multiple times each year … to benefit themselves by bringing on additional partners for us to represent but for the same pay. What is the point of signing a contract then?
