    I worked at Harrods full-time

    Pros

Dynamic environment. Not too big to have management afraid of new ideas. Benefits are great. Some of the best people I have worked with.

    Cons

Some people have been there for a long time and are adverse to change.

I worked at Harrods full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good staff discount for purchases in the store

    Cons

Poor pay, long hours and bad management

    Advice to Management

Please invest in training for your new staff and managers. The quality of the customer care in the store has gone down.

I worked at Harrods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There were some good learning opportunities available, e.g Careers week each year with some great external speakers, such as the CEO of Kurt Geiger, Eddie the Eagle.

    Cons

Poor team culture, no social aspect, I felt very isolated in this role and met few people I found to be genuinely friendly people. Little training given other than on-the-job, which was very stilted when I first arrived as no-one seemed to have the time to tell me what to do/how to do the job. Often has to travel from Hammersmith head office to Knightsbridge head office for training which seemed a waste of time. Opportunities for progression were limited as you had to progress to Senior Buyers Clerk before becoming Assistant Buyer, and these roles were few and far between. Senior management were rarely seen and unapproachable.

    Advice to Management

Create a greater sense of unity across departments with divisional meetings/workshops

    Pros

50% discounts off in business wear allowance
33% discounts across all brands in Harrods except for LVMH groups…
25% discounts beauty and skin care
But there are two days additional 10% off every month on top of the discounts
After 9:15pm in the food hall they will have selected food for sale, so some time you can find some good food for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner.

    Cons

You have limited to spend for the year, and not all the brands give you discounts, also it took so long to have Harrods email.
They don’t give us company phone so we sometimes give customer our personal contact information, but if you not feel comfortable to give your contact details you don’t need to give is totally up to you.

    Advice to Management

I will like to have one weekends at least once in a month
