I worked at Harrods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Joined Harrods straight from school. Straight away felt it was a well-structured company.

Managers were great, encouraging progression within the business. Perks were quite nice from staff cake sales, to charity fundraising and rota changes.
Harrods also offer in-house courses which enable you to progress which you can apply for any time.
Nice selection for staff canteen including its own Subway.

The reason I left was I wanted to pursue other interests which was always the plan. I would always consider Harrods in the future as an employer and highly recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Harrods and you don't realise what a good employer is like until you move away from Harrods

    Cons

    Working weekends
    Costs for travelling into London
The canteen can be expensive £4-5 a day

    Advice to Management

Keep doing as you are. One thing I would say is more focus on young school leavers to have a detailed progression plan. I felt no different to an adult in the business which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But being 18 when I joined in my first full-time job it would have been advantageous to have that plan and work with other young school leavers too. Being the youngest, it would be nice at times to work with other people my age in the business just to know I'm not alone.
