Pros

The Company uses Classin and updates the schedule for you which is very convenient The Company provides all the materials/lesson plans for their lessons which are diverse and fairly well designed The Company provides flexible hours and rescheduling It is fairly easy to communicate with management for support or questions, I do believe they try work hard and try to support their teachers (just not financially)

Cons

-Low pay for work/expectations: here is the big one, you are only paid for in class hours taught. No value is placed on anything outside of class time, however you are still expected to plan, prepare, review homework, and look over materials for next class on your OWN time. -No transparency in business practice, I've taught many classes now for this company, group and individual and I have no Idea how much parents are paying for this program. -This is more a problem of the industry then this company but whenever working with kids, especially ones from highly academically focused countries like China, know that the parents will have very high expectations and will not hesitate to complain to your management frequently regardless of how well you've been trained and are being compensated. - thick skin recommended.

Pros

- flexible schedule; you can literally make your own schedule. If you don't want any morning classes, they won't force you to work at that time. - opportunities outside your teaching time; other than teaching, you have other opportunities such as making lesson plans and get paid for them. You can also make training videos for new teachers and you will be compensated for them. There are many other ways you can earn with this company other than just teaching your students. -nice, understanding, and supportive employers; The company is owned by two wonderful ladies. They do their best to help you out when you are having a hard time. They also have assistants that are there if you need help. - Open-minded mentality and always seeks to improve. No company is perfect, but I like that Excellent Institute takes the teachers' and parents' comments into consideration to improve the quality of the school. - The reports that we have to do are quite time-consuming, but I understand that they are necessary to give the parents an idea of their child's progress. I'm glad we get paid for that now because it wasn't always that way. -Part-time and Full-time opportunities -Opportunities to have a permanent position with benefits - As long as you respect the basics of teaching in this company, you are technically free to teach however you want. - one-on-one and group lessons; students are great!

Cons

- I used to work full-time (last year) and I had so many back-to-back students that I barely had time to eat without rushing. I think they should also consider that we need a longer break in-between lessons to eat (for teachers with several back-to-back classes). -More materials would be very much appreciated; especially for the French courses. I tend to always search for new material on my own to give my advanced students. -Diversity is not really promoted. I think for students who are from Canada or the U.S.; it's important to provide lessons about diversity, even if they can be controversial for some. This is also a topic that they will cover in school anyway. - While there is an opportunity to become a permanent teacher and have benefits, the pay is still quite low compared to what teachers can earn if they teach in schools. So, it's really a matter of what you want.

Pros

Communication with the teachers and families is strong. Reliability for payment and opportunities for becoming an asset to the company. Great platform of teaching tools and services for lesson plans. The kids are wonderful to work with!

Cons

Can take some time to gain opportunities but worth the wait.
