I worked at Esurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Diversity and inclusion make an enjoyable and pleasant work enviorment.
Teamwork and relationships within the company the best part.

    Cons

The only bad thing is the healthcare benefits get worse every single year.

    Advice to Management

Work on the medical benefit packages offered. Being an insurance company you realize how important that can be. You want your clients protected. Protect your employees properly as well.

We appreciate the feedback! As a company we continue to look for ways we can reduce the cost of benefits and pass them on to the employees. Thanks for your years of service with us.

I have been working at Esurance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company values being transparent and collaboration of internal & external customers alike.
It is nice to work in environment where your voice is heard and better yet considered in decision making items that contribute to the company vision and purpose

    Cons

Benefit package needs a little work, however it's not the worst

    Advice to Management

Keep moving toward being the 'modern' insurance business model, by pursuing technologies that meet 21st Century demands and beyond.

Keep investing in your workforce by offering continued education and certification courses that align with where you want to see Esurance.

I have been working at Esurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can basically camp out here earn average salary with ok benefits

    Cons

It's a tech company in SF with no benefits of being so. You have to buy snacks and soda. It's an insurance company and grass grow faster than decisions get made here. It's spookie quiet in the office. Salaries are level set for insurance industry, not SF market. Many under market employees. No wonder Recruiters have a field day here.

    Advice to Management

For the love of the guy upstairs, improve the culture in SF. Give us the perks available at real tech companies. We might stick around for a while.
If you can't improve comp, move to a lower cost area. There's only 350 of us here so not a big deal all things considered.

I worked at Esurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Family oriented
Try to be understanding and accommodating
    Good pay
    Good managers
    Your voice is heard

    Cons

If someone wants to quit they don't always let them and try to sway when they shouldn't
    Not enough understanding of disabilities

    Advice to Management

Learn more and understand how to accommodate those struggling with disabilities whether it is mental or physical and if someone wants to quit let them the first time

I worked at Esurance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay and people are awesome. They really do a great job with diversity and inclusion of all and everyone gets along. The pay is good and they really make you feel appreciated.

    Cons

Health benefits are all high deductible plan and since they are an insurance company (not health insurance) I would think they would understand the importance of affordable, good plans for their employees. Each year the cost of coverage increased and benefits offered overall were decreased.

    Advice to Management

Management was fantastic. They really stood behind me on more than one occasion and I commend Eric Cooper, Doug Westphalia and the HR Business Partner Melissa Smith for all their efforts!

I have been working at Esurance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some pros to working here. The location is not in the middle of Tampa so the traffic is not as awful as it is if you worked elsewhere. We do have some flexibility for WAH. the culture is pretty relaxed compared to most carriers however that seems to be on the decline. Technology has improved over the last 2 years and we seem to finally have entered the 21st century.

    Cons

The pay is not commensurate with the workload. The amount of tasks and responsibilities have increased exponentially. The added responsibility with the ever increasing micro management has become almost unbearable. When people leave they are not being replaced. Twice in the last year adjuster got salary increases based on nothing more than roles being rebranded. This could be listed as a pro if you are an adjuster but not a UM. Unit managers continue to be taxed with more work with no hope of them doing the same for us.

    Advice to Management

I always hear when upper mgmt is here how important Unit Managers are. Yet we are the last to receive any consideration and treated like parts that can be replaced when worn out. If we are so important and vital to the companies success stop paying lip service and put some action behind your empty words.

    Pros

Good work-life balance, work at home opportunities.

    Cons

Not much gets accomplished. As soon as dev resources become available, all the focus changes on all the work that has been done. Seems to be a lot of people just wanting to give ideas, not many that want to do the work to complete.
