Pros

The org is big and still growing in revenue Skilled people from where you can learn from Great benefits and budget for self-development The communication at the org level is great Good culture of trust and responsibility

Cons

The Cons is regarding the Mobile department which is totally apart from the company. The culture in Mobile is one of the worst ever I have experienced. Managers and Team Leaders love and incentive micro-management on all levels and there is a feeling they are working against you and not with/for you. One-to-one meetings end to be a status report meeting. The career plan is not clear at all and even if you are playing a role two levels above yours, they will try to find small things to convince you and the managers above them to not promote you. They love meetings, you don't have time to finish your tasks and learn a new tech because there is always a meeting that you are required to attend. A lot of great people leaving due to all the cons above. The mobile department can make your life miserable even in a great company like Zendesk.

Many systems to learn, but this is true for any large company.

Pros

The people you work directly with are nice and the unlimited PTO was nice, and everyone was very chill about you taking time off when you needed.

Cons

It used to be a pretty good place to work but then after Zendesk got acquired everything slowly got worse and worse culture-wise. There were also multiple layoffs and re-orgs that caused a lot of confusion and cognitive debt, all the while management was still expecting more productivity somehow???? With layoffs practically every year and veiled threats about having to use AI more (more how?! There was no direction), working there kind of felt like working with a gun to my head.
