Pros

Zendesk made a bunch of good decisions the last year to invest rapidly in AI products and go-to-market. It is paying off with over $200M AI ARR at the end of 2025 and driving real value for customers. Leadership talks about writing the playbook to transition from a SaaS company to an AI company and I am experiencing this real-time. Clear vision and clear strategy. Smart people at Zendesk. Good compensation and benefits as well as leadership values employees.

Cons

Sometimes do not work well cross-functionally and harder to have a strong culture with hybrid work environment, but on the hand it gives employees more flexibility. It has been a longer transformation than anticipated the last 3 years and intensity of work is high.

Many systems to learn, but this is true for any large company.

Pros

The people you work directly with are nice and the unlimited PTO was nice, and everyone was very chill about you taking time off when you needed.

Cons

It used to be a pretty good place to work but then after Zendesk got acquired everything slowly got worse and worse culture-wise. There were also multiple layoffs and re-orgs that caused a lot of confusion and cognitive debt, all the while management was still expecting more productivity somehow???? With layoffs practically every year and veiled threats about having to use AI more (more how?! There was no direction), working there kind of felt like working with a gun to my head.
