Pros
Great healthcare. 401k match is 8% if you put in 4%. Overall work life balance is good, but there are pockets of overworked.
Cons
Where to begin. Executive Management is a mess with everything being decided in a secretive way at VP level and higher. I was in the room with my AVP when the Bank reorg was announced and she was as blind sided as I was. The executive team is actively trying to drive attrition to avoid severance and reduce headcount. I have never been bait and switched harder or more regularly than at usaa. There is no empowerment to decide anything if you’re not EMG and you cannot be anything but wrong most of the time. There is no growth to Director level or higher. There are no plans to help you acquire more skills. Managers are being pressured by executives to place employees on improvement plans or give them lower ratings to further drive attrition. Finally their RTO policy is horrid, making anyone within 60 miles commute in 4x a week come January.
