Pros

PTO is decent. Leave benefits are useful when you get burnt out

Cons

Just don't work here. Honestly. It's declined so much since I started 5 years ago. Executive Management doesn't listen to frontline concerns. Systems are inefficient internally, and super buggy on the consumer side. It's shocking how it seems this company is absolutely tanking. Management said they "over invested in employees" and have since cut pay, bonuses, and benefits. Meanwhile they're benefits simply rated on profits, of which we have a record amount year over year. Executives also are seeing high turnover. Taking lifeboats while giving us reps the bare minimum , micromanaging, and blatantly ignoring real concerns, and giving fake empty "recognition". It's so awful. My department is probably the best in regards to member contact (sales) cause of the relative flexibility in scheduling and pto. Servicing and Claims are a DISASTER. Overworked, micromanaged, and never heard. The compensation is below the industry average and benefits are standard it seems. Do NOT JOIN CLAIMS. Honestly, if I meet anyone and USAA comes up in convo I advise not to work here, and it they're a member I advise to leave. Claims is sooooo ineffecient, overworked, and it's scary, not sure how USAA will survive if we can't perform basic insurance services. Bank servicing is a disaster with long hold times and the website is abysmal. Internal systems crash drop calls or misroute or have internal IT errors that never get fixed. And moving up? Impossible. You're immediately denied at every application unless you jump thru tons of hoops and can get managers to play favorites with you. Every posting is like a show to seem like it's an opportunity but they already know who they're picking... This company has become cold and just in it for profit like many other companies these days. It's sad. Out of touch and just plain sad. It's cringey to hear people try and be authentically positive. Stay away.

Pros

Life work balance, great benefit package and nice colleagues. The goal of the company is providing the best service to its members. So, they treat employees the best to encourage them to do the same for members.

Cons

Slow IT support, limited interactions with industry. Banking business is not as mature as insurance.
