Pros

It has a great culture and environment. The office (in Denver) is very laid back. Micromedex is a tech company at heart so much of the traditional positive traditional tech attributes exist here - casual dress, low stress, employee perks. I worked in the finance group and came from a financial services background. This was almost culture shock for me.

Cons

As part of a large corporation (its even larger know with the merger of Thomson and Reuters), there are the typical beuracracies and negatives that come with a company of this size. One of the good things though is that Micromedex is a smaller, almost stand alone, part of the parent. So this is less of a negative. The finance group was small, so was little opportunity to advance your career.

Pros

Great environment and people. Lots of overtime available and bonuses during busy season.

Cons

I really enjoyed this job so the only con I can think of is that it is seasonal.

Pros

Plenty of wonderful benefits and the most competitive parental leave I have found in the US job market

Cons

Depending on the organization you work within, you could be working for leadership that expects sales reps to smooth over and fix every single mistake that is made. A lot of these mistakes are because they haven't yet recovered from acquiring new companies and they haven't absorbed CRMs and data correctly. There are many different teams to work with to get the simplest projects done. It feels like the companies values are really in place because they expect the employees to take responsibility for their lack of systems in place supporting them.
