    • Senior Management
Former Employee - Accounting/Tax/Finance Manager in Toronto, ON
    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Thomson Reuters full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good culture, friendly environment, good work life balance, benefits in line with market (not relatively attractive, but not bad)

    Cons

    - Lack of opportunities: Canadian offices are small and scattered, if you want to grow you would have to move to Dallas or Minnesota but still opportunities are not advertised within the company. - Hierarchical inflexibility: decisions made top down, poorly communicated - Lack of visibility into company future - Company trying to become more innovative and market tuned but senior management is made of old lifelong employees

I worked at Thomson Reuters full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent work/life balance and employees tend to be tight-knit, although somewhat clique-ish, depending on how long you've been with your team.

    Cons

Very little room to grow, company likes to talk about being the answer company and heavy tech investments yet employees are using ancient desktop Mac & PCs in some cases.

I worked at Thomson Reuters full-time

    Pros

Work/Life balance was excellent. Flexible arrangements, such as alternate hours and work from home. However, this was dictated by an individuals manager. The benefits package made up for the lower salary.

    Cons

TR has changed drastically in the last few years, less about the people and all about the $.
