Pros

None, I would suggest you stay on universal credit until finding better work conditions.

Cons

Everything and I will go into detail. -First of all, forget about what they teach you about lifting safely. The targets that they set up for you are literally unachievable so you will have to be in a constant rush in order to reach them. If you don't reach them you get pestered by supervisors, if you do reach them you risk injury because of the rushed and unsafe nature of the job. So you can see how they can easily blame you for a possible injury or low performance. Take into consideration that I am training in a gym for about five years now so the weight at Tesco does not bother me. You need to take into account that no matter how physically strong you are, in order to avoid injury you need the proper form. Even if you only work there for one day you will see people running around, all of them lifting in unsafe conditions. - It is laughable that they say managers will question you if you don't respect proper health and safety. At the Livingston branch managers do not care at all even when you do something that defies their policy in front of them. They will only talk to you if you do not reach your target. - You are literally a robot. There is no human interaction as they always check to see if you are picking or not(and do not think for a moment that I am one of the people who would stay and chat with a colleague for 10 minutes), even if you have a small chat for a minute you will get a message on your scanner that you are taking too long in between picks. If you go to the toilet when you come back prepare to be questioned by your supervisor as to why you were not picking for five minutes. - As fit as you might be, the work will tare you down. It is doable with better targets that emphasize the fact that you are actually a human being and do not have replaceable parts such as a robot. -The colleagues at the branch are absolutely miserable from the poor culture and work conditions. All of the advice you to leave as soon as you can.
