Sam completed our ten week Food Internship Programme with us before he went back to complete his final year at university. He talks about his experience with us.
"I’ve learnt some great life lessons throughout my time here; how to lead projects, communicate more effectively and also how to act independently in the workplace. The responsibility that Tesco gives you is remarkable, you really do get to take control of a project.
My highlight was seeing a fully functioning production line at my pet supplier and experiencing the end to end process which helped give context to the work I was doing.
As an intern, I was quite nervous that I would be a hindrance to the team when I first started, but I wasn't and I never felt like that. My line manager and my buddy were absolutely fantastic and right from the start I felt like a member of the team who had something to contribute. I really felt that I was not only welcome, but valued."
