They'll Promise You Gold, Give You Lead - Sales Floor Team Member Target Employee Review

Pros

Your fellow team members are, for the most part, all good people. 10% discount is a good incentive considering the variety of goods that they sell there. Setting up the store before the Grand Opening was nice.

Cons

Incompetent Team Leaders that do nothing but tell you what to do; know little more than you do. No respect for employees; hardly competitive pay, Team Leaders speak down to you, the list goes on. Stressful - completely understaffed, and you're not trained to do anything at all. I was expected to close in electronics completely alone without being trained in electronics, and then was given a similar task in Food Ave. Broken promises - while setting up the store, they told us we would all be well-trained, we would all have the opportunity to collaborate on stuff. We're yelled at for speaking to other Team Members. Scheduling - I put my "ideal" hours at 15 per week and my "max" and 20, and there's only been one week during which they've given me below 20, let alone near 15.
