Pros

- Lots of hours for picking up if you want them - Fast-paced, physical - Some of the best people I've ever worked with (Target seems to attract a certain type of applicant, and it made for a great team) - Easy hiring process (apply online, call for interview, second interview right after, started within days) - Good for spotty employment history, they don't really mind - They use an app for swapping shifts and that makes shift swapping quite easy

Cons

- Hired on after seasonal, but felt stagnant. Unless you can devote full time hours, and they're available, and there's a position, it seemed like there wasn't much room to move beyond a very basic role. I think that is inherent in the position, and there isn't much that can be done about it due to company size. It's just slightly disappointing to be limited in a way that you might not be at a smaller company - Honestly, all retail needs to be at a minimum of fifteen dollars per hour. Everything does. So I support Target's decision to raise their minimum wage to $12 until they phase in their higher wages, reportedly due in 2020. But this is physically laborious work. I was walking more than 18k steps in an 8 hour shift. Others were standing in one place for that amount of time. Regardless of your job, it is demanding, and even twelve or fifteen dollars an hour is low for a company that makes the amount of money that Target makes. Again, this isn't something that is likely to change, as they've only just started to work toward implementing what might be considered a living wage in 2020.
