Nice people, but priorities out of order. - Cart Attendant Target Employee Review

Pros

The other people who work there are generally supportive and easy to get along with. Of course, every workplace has those people you just don't get along with, but that's a small minority. This even carries over to the store management. There is an open door policy which makes it very easy to communicate with your Team Lead, Executive Team Lead, and even the Store Team Leader. Employees are encouraged to fill out "Great Team" cards to recognize the work of other team members, which is nice for morale. Yearly merit-based pay increases are a nice incentive to get your work done well.

Cons

Although there are yearly pay increases, they're not that much of a help, as wages for regular team members are pretty low to begin with. Far too much stress is placed on the speed score of the cashier. Getting the customer's money and getting them out of the store is regarded as a much higher priority than providing customer service that's actually friendly. Speed is a relevant thing to worry about, but too much stress is placed on it. Also, when temporarily covering for somebody who makes more money than you (e.g. a service desk attendant covering the break of the guest service team leader), there is no form of temporary wage increase or recognition.
