Pros
Flexible hours. As an estimator, I can plan my own day and start early, finish early, or start latrer and finish later. As long as you complete an 8hr. day and give the company this, then all is well.
Cons
Not getting recognition for a jobwell done and feeling blindsided when you screw up, as everyone will do at some point in time. I was also dissatisfied with their "pay for performance" change in the late 90's. I feel that all this was is a change to save to company more money, at the sacrifice of their employees. ie no more cost of living, total raise per year is split as a percentage. Example a 7% raise would be 3.5% merit, 3.5% cash bonus.
