Pros

State Farm easily the worst call center. This company is so unfair to its employees, select service shops, tow/salvage vendors, and rental vendors.

Cons

This company did so bad in 2017 they are to the point where they are robbing from their employees and vendors. They are aggressively cutting employees pay more than they already did. They take 15-30 minutes off of each day so a work week is 38:45hrs instead of a standard 40hrs. All overtime was eliminated. They eliminated the 10% late shift differential (For Spanish teams) by compressing shifts from 5 day x 7:45 shifts, into these highly inconvenient 4 x 9:45 shifts (Note- on weekends 30 mins are taken off, instead of 15 mins). Other companies offer an extra break for working these kinds of long days, but not State Farm. Express and Auto ILR were designed to be entry launch positions into Complex, Total Loss, or Injury (which are understaffed) so instead of hiring or promoting more people into those positions they are finding sneaky ways to move those overflow claims into Express and Auto ILR, which is totally unfair to everyone. Its unforgivably micromanaged and any yellow/red on your metrics can hold you back for at least a year or two so as I mentioned before getting a promotion is unlikely here. They have a metric system which often glitches and messes up monthly results so you're constantly having to defend yourself and demonstrate that you were productive. These shoddy Task Productivity Rate reports do affect you adversely in many ways such as a small or no yearly bonus, consideration on shift bids/shift swaps, you disqualify from tuition assistance for at least a year. I suspect they don't do anything about fixing these reports in order to jipp employees further and save more on costs. They treat their select service shops, tow/salvage, and rental vendors quite unfairly making them have to complete repairs by unreasonable deadlines and underpaying them. At the end of the day its just another shaddy insurance company, apply and work for them at your own risk.

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
