      Pros

      Every weekend off for a month straight Great starting salary Room to grow into higher positions and grow as a person! Working from home is amazing.

      Cons

      The company is new, there are going to be small flaws. However, at Shopify we are always looking to grow and become better. If you have an issue with anything, your manager is trained to discuss it with you! They want to have feedback.

      Pros

      Remote first culture. If you want freedom of location and a company to truly mean and support it - this is the place.

      Cons

      Constant change. Nothing to hold on to in this role, compensation, KPI's, tools all change every quarter.

      Pros

      Legacy Shopify ICs and lower-level managers are excellent and generally quite nice (company's Canadian after all) Caliber of engineering talent is generally high Dev-friendly stack (Ruby/Rails) Bleeding-edge AI adoption with unlimited token budget

      Cons

      Recently brought over a CTO from Microsoft: he brought with him a lot of not-at-all-nice people who are highly political, frequently rude/condescending to legacy Shopifolk, and make consistently bad/dev-hostile technical decisions Bleeding-edge AI adoption is being used to justify unreasonably increased expectations
