      Pros

      Shopify is a great company! The culture is incredible and everyone who works there values their job and the company. This is a direct reflection on how Shopify treats their employees. We are encouraged to be ourselves and have real interactions with our customers. Shopify has also provided many perks designed around employee health, family support and professional growth. The pay is very fair as well.

      I don't have any cons. Shopify is a great place to work.

      Pros

      Remote first culture. If you want freedom of location and a company to truly mean and support it - this is the place.

      Cons

      Constant change. Nothing to hold on to in this role, compensation, KPI's, tools all change every quarter.

      Pros

      Legacy Shopify ICs and lower-level managers are excellent and generally quite nice (company's Canadian after all) Caliber of engineering talent is generally high Dev-friendly stack (Ruby/Rails) Bleeding-edge AI adoption with unlimited token budget

      Cons

      Recently brought over a CTO from Microsoft: he brought with him a lot of not-at-all-nice people who are highly political, frequently rude/condescending to legacy Shopifolk, and make consistently bad/dev-hostile technical decisions Bleeding-edge AI adoption is being used to justify unreasonably increased expectations
