      Pros

      fast paced, you learn a lot about doing more with less and scaling monolithic applications, which is a transferable skill to other companies.

      Cons

      Shopify nowadays has a big issue on politics. Most orgs are fighting for budget and trying to impress Tobi. When something goes wrong, upper management goes into a firing spree, trying to find scape goats. If you do not enjoy working 12-14 hour days or working few weekends every month, chances are you are not going to enjoy working here.

      Pros

      Remote first culture. If you want freedom of location and a company to truly mean and support it - this is the place.

      Cons

      Constant change. Nothing to hold on to in this role, compensation, KPI's, tools all change every quarter.

      Pros

      High comp and AI forward. One of the few remote places left.

      Cons

      Upper management basically openly disdains the “working class”, and it’s a major jostle among the VP and Director level for currying favor with the CEO. The investment in AI tooling is smart but also the C suite majorly suffers from AI psychosis, it’s embarrassing, actually.
