• archaic technology (system breaks often, shuts down, freezes). • no organized training when hired (for such a large corporation) • heavily disorganized • last of internal resources to actually help customers or resolve their issues. Has to be sourced to call centre. • Company does not replace ABMs that have issues all the time • Management and branch culture makes or breaks your work life. Some management does not like to work at all. • verbal abuse from customers is normal (retail banking means you get the anger from customers about issues beyond your control). • If a coworker on the front is incompetent but has worked there for long, nothing is done about it. Managers do not talk to them. Their mistakes are always forgiven. More work for rest of the team. You will need to wait until this coworker retires or leaves the branch, or you leave. • Office politics (coworker that slacks but is loved by manager) • bonus amount depends on your manager's preference of you (they have influence on how to distribute it) • sales role disguised as service role. Sales targets matter, not service to customers. • depending on the branch and staff you work with, coworkers can still be discriminatory towards certain groups in a subtle way. • Wealthy customers receive better treatment
