Pros

Competitive salary - depending on the required skillset Excellent benefits - very well thought out, great options Very nice discounts - especially at the Sample Store! Our CEO 'gets it' when it comes to what needs to be done to drive us up the ladder Co-workers are pretty awesome!

Cons

Three - YES 3 - reorgs in IT in 2016. That means three completely and very different reporting structures in 12 months time. That is a huge negative because it takes a few months to adjust to the personality and expectations of your 'new boss'. Trust me, there are many differences between them. How you aligned yourself with your previous manager a few months ago is very much not likely to cut it with the new one. Hence - a huge stressor! Due to the frequent restructuring of teams lately, which is designed to satisfy the recent OneQ initiative, QVC has lost a whole bunch of very talented IT folks. They're also not replaced and the workload they had is simply divided amongst others. There isn't any easy way to get here if you live out of state, travel time can be unexpectedly taxing. Overall, the commute is worth the cons, but it can be a real pain due to unexpected traffic/road construction/accidents, etc...things that are completely out of your control. The result is that who you report to tends to not be as understanding that life happens. Oh well... If you live certain states - such as NJ or Delaware - working remotely is very much discouraged (and not really allowed) because of income tax-related non-sense. Be sure to check the rules between your home state and PA so you know before accepting the position. This can be huge with your 'work/life' balance.

Pros

Only pros - wfh and you get a nice discount

Cons

Everything else. Management/corporate have unrealistic kpis. You can only use the rr during your SCHEDULED break. You have to offer a sale to EVERY CALLER even if they are already upset. You can NOT hang up even if the customer is screaming/offending you. My manager once said I should’ve been more patient. Mind you the customer was already using foul language and belittling me. I POLITELY asked the customer to please refrain from using that kind of language. It continued and I told her I would have to release the call. Also you stop getting a raise after 2 years. You cap at $17/hr.
