I worked at QVC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Training is great, some supervisors care, discount,

    Cons

Low Pay even when you get a seasonal assignment that pays more (temporarily). Upper Managers don’t care about people only numbers, customers are horrible and your expected to take 20 calls per hour to meet your goal or get fired after a few months, if your a favorite you get special treatment.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people what they are worth and you won’t lose the good dedicated ones. Go back to the days when employees felt cared about. Stop cutting vacation time for long time employees. Don’t cater more to new people with attendance chances than you do the long time employees.

I have been working at QVC

    Pros

Benefits. Reasonable pay. Sometimes flexible schedules- some depts have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts WITH shift differential (pay goes up 10% in evening/at night)

    Cons

Lacking of communication from higher up to ground floor. Little to no room for advancement in certain depts. Not much feeling of real support from supervisors above the broadcast floor.

    Advice to Management

More accountability, don’t assume your subordinate haven’t searched for or tried alternatives to a conflict. Enforce change more so that new habits/rules actually stick.

I have been working at QVC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible time, lots of PTO and work from home options, employee discount

    Cons

No clear direction from leadership to the teams, constantly redirecting strategies to be reactive to market. Rarely are they proactive or ahead of the curve. They could careless about the work culture or working as a team. There is little to none opportunity for career advancement and yearly raises are very slim, below average.

    Advice to Management

Show your employees you care by promoting them and rewarding them when they give years of service. Take more notice of the work environment and create a more positive and team oriented workspace.

I have been working at QVC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Building is gorgeous and they’re currently renovating In a great area (West Chester) People are great Large plot of land that makes it feel like a college campus It’s still a TV channel, even though it’s only QVC it’s still cool seeing things happen behind the scenes

    Cons

HR is horrible Pay is extremely low Benefits changed from PPO to HSA Slashing vacation time Company is too “corporate” now and has moved away from a “family” feeling Losing revenue every quarter Probably on it’s last leg

I worked at QVC full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Trainers and coworkers were nice

    Cons

Seems to care more about call times then actual customer service condescending rules and feed back from management (talk of 'grey areas' when talking about rules and policies all the time ) terrible points system for unpaid time off/missed days no job security you could be fired at the drop of a hat the system is always having some sort of issue between the actual computer system or the shipping and delivery... department that ships items wrong or late constantly or it may never get sent at all thats a 'fun' conversation but dont take too long on that call or your fired

    Advice to Management

Have more compassion for employees and the fact that they have lives outside of work and worry more about actual customer service and a little less on call times I understand time is money but customer service is more important in my book
