Pros

- Unlimited PTO is a great policy. It's nice not to have to keep a rigorous accounting of vacation days. (That being said, I've heard that some departments don't respect the policy and institute blackout periods of up to 6 months on all time off.) - Some of the people are really great.

Cons

- Some of the people are really not great. The leadership over the product team is especially poor. - Collaborative dialogue about improving processes is flat-out unwelcome. Management pays lip service to retrospection, but is not genuinely interested in hearing critical observations or suggestions from below. If you are a "yes man," the Q4 product team is your jam. If you ask me, that's why it's probably doomed to fail. - Managers and leaders in several departments play favourites and foster resentment between team members. Favourites get promotions and special attention, while hard-working and talented non-favourites (often the vocal ones) get yelled at. The product team leadership in particular prioritizes covering their own backs over resolving problems and evolving. TL;DR: Don't work here if you: - want to grow in your work; - want to exercise independent thought; - value transparency. Do work here if you: - like being a suck up; - like being micromanaged; - want to go down with the ship.

Q4 Inc. Response

Thank you for taking the time to write this. Although I admit, it's tough to read! Our culture is open, and our CEO is one of the most approachable leaders around. It's unfortunate that you didn't feel comfortable sharing your experience with us before you left. I invite you to please contact Darrell or myself to provide additional context. We pride ourselves on our transparent culture, a culture that is responsive to feedback and very adaptable. Hope to hear from you.

Pros

- High pace - Genuine management team - Clear goals

Cons

- PE backed, comes with lots of structural change in a short amount of time. Which is to be expected but might not be for everyone. - No more unlimited PTO - Primarily fully remote organization, limited ability to interact in person with team members

Pros

Co- workers and ability to work remote

Cons

Multiple layoffs - management can’t be trusted, they fire you if you sneeze too loud. Zero career growth, they only reward based on favoritism and personal relationships They cannot be doing well financially, we were public, then were acquired by a private company, then they started firing everyone who was good except the leadership team - they are the ones that should be fired. The leadership team is cold and condescending - you cannot trust any of them, especially the CEO. Very sneaky and liars unless you are part of the in crowd. They don’t care.
