Pros

Across the entire organization, it is evident that Paycom attracts high achievers and driven individuals who are eager to succeed. Within the marketing department, I’ve worked with some of the most talented marketing, creative & comms professionals I’ve ever encountered. Since joining, I have been challenged and have had the opportunity to learn more than I have at other organizations, both within the marketing department and across different departments within the company. While the expectations have been high, I have always received the resources, coaching and support to meet them. In addition to my team, a major pro is the perks. The campus is beautiful, and the compensation packages & benefits are some of the most competitive I have encountered. There are numerous culture-building activities, employee resources, and opportunities to meet other Paycom employees outside of your department that really make it feel like you are a part of it all.

Cons

Paycom can be a fast-paced environment, and high expectations are placed on every employee across the organization. However, in my experience, people are given the resources, coaching, and support to meet those expectations if they put in the work. Additionally, some individuals may not appreciate the dress code (business casual, leaning more professional for client & prospect-facing roles) or the limited flexibility in work locations.

Pros

Good benefits, easy HR system. As a product, Paycom is very good.

Cons

There has been too much restructuring in the past couple of years. You will get no overtime pay. A bad developer and a good developer will be paid the same. They do not care about what technique you use as long as it works. Got used to a new process that was released two months ago? They just changed it again. The issue was Paycom tried to fix something that was not broken (for the most part) in Development, and now everything is pretty much broken. You will get double the work but no change in pay. They will try to get feedback, but only from managers, not actual developers who work with the system each day. Even though they inconvenience developers every other week with a new priority, if you inconvenience management (usually because they want Rome built in a day), you will have a write-up. Many good developers have left for better opportunities elsewhere as they also were not getting raises or title changes, even though they're doing better work above their pay grade. You only got a raise if everyone was getting a raise.
