Pros
- The other SDR's are nice
Cons
If you’re considering a Sales Development Representative (SDR) role at NetSuite, know what you’re walking into. This job is often marketed as a great “foot-in-the-door” to Oracle, but the reality can be disillusioning for many. Cons: Leadership is disconnected: Middle management seems more focused on optics than people. Coaching is inconsistent, and leadership often avoids accountability when reps raise valid concerns. Unrealistic quotas: Quotas are frequently inflated, especially in slower quarters, making it nearly impossible to hit targets. Hitting 80%+ of quota is the exception, not the norm. Commission cuts: Compensation plans change with little to no notice — and not in your favor. Even top performers have seen their earnings slashed due to retroactive adjustments. Little to no upward mobility: Despite talk about “growth paths,” promotions are rare and often based on favoritism or internal politics rather than performance. Many high-performing reps feel stuck in a churn-and-burn system.
