Pros

The brand name inherited from Microsoft Corp, Pay ,Parties and other good things which they have inherited from Microsoft Corp

Cons

No Vision for the Company, Treated simply as a cost center with providing any type of sheet work which is demanded by MCS. No good projects. You will not get to learn any practical things such as good project management or anything. Treated as offshore slaves. Any thing comes from onsite you have to do it you can not even try to convince and say no for it. A lot of politics in getting good project. And even above that the project sizes here are not more than 6 month for almost 90% of the projects only 10% of projects are there which are for longer duration. Too bad work life balance when in project. You may find many peoples sitting till 2-3 in morning to complete the task. so 14-18 hr work in a day with billing of only 8 hrs and it can last for months if you are in a dirty project. I myself has stayed in company till 3 in morning for a complete 1 month to complete the task. because your seniors have wrongly estimated the time duration for the task and at last you are the guys who will be responsible for it. From its strength for 1000+ employees at any time in night you will find at least 100 employees sitting till 12 in night and this guys are not in shifts. as there is no shift structure here. You will never feel that you are working for Microsoft. you will fill you are slaves and given some task and you have to complete it without even getting proper recognition for your work. To get recognized for your work here is a big politics where you can find 3-4 different groups in company based on you origin and they try to promote there people for the work even if they deserve it or not.

Pros

1. If you love tech, this is a great place. No doubt you'll talk tech (mostly the MSFT stack) from enterprise to consumer - from PCs to phones to Xboxes - from datacenter to desktop. 2. What were GREAT benefits are now VERY GOOD (took a small step down) but still probably better than you'll find at 99% of large corporations. If you've got family - the value of the benefits is even higher. 401k match is nice. 3. Even with it's struggles MSFT is still a cash printing machine. This means if you can keep your nose clean and do reasonable work, you can have a stable job, pay your bills, feed your family, and not worry (too much) about layoffs. The stock you own likely won't tank, but probably won't go up much either. You'll get a bonus each year and some stock. It's a decent life if you aren't looking to light the world on fire.

Cons

Brand on Your Resume: After many years of losing market share and struggling to be at the front end of innovation and the fact that there's 90,000 employees, don't think MSFT is necessarily going to be attractive on your resume to more agile and smaller companies. Managing Your Career: Make you say this out loud so it registers - 90,000 employees work there. Double that for vendors. It is VERY hard to "stand out" and move up in the company. Don't expect your manager to be much of an advocate or enabler to help you meet your career goals - they are basically trying to survive the stack rank every year too. Not familiar with the stack rank? Check out the 2012 Vanity Fair article called "Microsoft's Lost Decade".
