Pros

In 2010, KPMG LLP collectively employees more than 24,000 people, among whom, nearly 3000 people are directly working at our New York branch. Employees believe in the company’s ability to satisfy all clients despite the complexity of the distinguishing tax system and accounting standard of the U.S

Cons

The expansion of our company means increasing workload which could isolate employees in their offices. In fact, the rapid growth of KPMG LLP over the past five years has significantly reduced the sense of community and the commitment employees used to have to their jobs. The pressure of enormous and intense work put on our accountants, auditors, and consultants has left them almost no time to strengthen relationships with their colleagues.

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
