Pros

6% automatic 401k match, Unlimited PTO, Remote work available. Above average competent coworkers and professional senior level management. Overall great benefits, good people, potentially interesting clients.

Cons

Very structured culture. Ideal for rule-driven Type-A personalities, less-so for creative thinkers who need flexibility and autonomy. High focus on repetitive, training not applicable to creatives. Read the small print on your contract. Employees can not earn outside income without prior approval, including things like an Etsy shop or freelance work. All employees must disclose their investments and those of anyone closely related. Serious financial restrictions for employee stocks/funds they are permitted to own, where they can take out a loan for a car/mortgage etc. This is a condition of employment. More restrictions at manager level and above. Federal work covered by NDAs and security clearances making it difficult - if not impossible - to show or discuss work for portfolios or future interviews.

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
