Pros

Smart people (lifers no dead weight too depending on LOB) lots of career opportunities.

Cons

Too big and bureaucratic to navigate and get things done. Lots of layers of approvals and consensus makes decisions and change slow. Lots of emphasis on compliance and regulators creates unnecessary checks and balances. If you're a registered rep, it is VERY big brotherish: email monitoring and monitoring of your web activity. So much monitoring software installed on computers it takes 15 minutes to boot up. Ridiculous bonus payout structure. Even lower level employees get a percentage paid out in RSUs that vest over three years. Seems like nickel and diming.

Pros

The team was supportive and willing to answer questions. I gained practical experience in industry research, financial analysis, Excel, and data organization while working on real projects. Managers provided helpful feedback, and the internship was a good opportunity to understand how research and analytical work is completed in a professional environment.

Cons

Some assignments could become repetitive, especially data cleaning, database updates, and reviewing large amounts of information. Deadlines could also be tight during busy periods. Because the internship was relatively short, interns sometimes had limited ownership over longer-term projects.
