The Most Fun I've had in a Job - Interior Designer IKEA Employee Review

Pros

Work felt like play to me because I love design and furniture. They have restructured the Communication and Interior Design Dept. since I left, but I was in charge of designing and mantaining the room sets, and work in collaboration with the Sales dept. Benefits are great. My coworkers who had babies while working there said all they spent at the hospital was $300 for the delivery. You also have the opportunity to travel to other IKEA's overseas or domestically (expenses paid) to help with the buildups of new stores.

Cons

The pay is not great, and you have to help the Sales dept. on the floor during big holidays (Black Friday etc...) even though you are not in the Sales dept.

Pros

• Structured, delivery focused work • Data driven decision making • Independent ownership • Impact on team efficiency & customer xp

Cons

• Balancing customer facing expectations with project deadlines • Scope creep with cross team processes and reporting • Managers often leaned on me for more than my formal responsibilities, which led to overextension

Pros

Great work environment Pay is great for retail Job keeps you busy

Cons

Lack of communication with leadership and coworkers. Leadership seems to have favorites Schedule but know it's a pain Seems that there's people who would like the be full time or part time that are temporary right now aren't getting the positions Feels like nepotism but maybe I'm wrong. Finding out that there's family relations just seems off putting to others. Getting responses like you didn't get the job because you didn't answer your interview questions right just seems like a cop out The amount of drama happening is getting out of hand. Leadership doesn't seem to care about it.
