Pros

*seasonal work during winter months *summers optional if chosen by management however can take summers off which is great for moms of school aged kids like me *you can work as many or few hours as you like * if you start as receptionist can take the tax class to become a tax pro for only a $5.00 one time fee. * awesome training and resources * bonus check at end of tax season * hourly pay during tax season

Cons

*only seasonal for those looking for more pernament year round work * starting pay for first year tax pros is only min wage and no bonus check first year * alot of hours staring at computer screen during peak times I worked a 14 hour day last day of tax season and 80+ hours a week during peak times which is few weeks during February and April * required to help with marketing which involves setting up tables at local venues and hand out marketing materials

Pros

If you get in the right office you can have amazing coworkers and can learn so much. You can gain a ton of experience and knowledge if you are willing to work and collaborate with other preparers. Training is robust and is there for you to utilize and work your way up to higher salary. The potential to earn a full years salary working for half the year once trained up to a higher level and build your book of business.

Cons

Communication is often not the best and in the offseason you are off boarded or get reduced salary and only work a day or two a week
