Pros
The HQ office building is pretty nice
Cons
GMI has never been competitive on salaries so the workforce is chronically underpaid, but they made up for it with a good culture. No more. Now if you question leadership on any of the bizarre decisions being made you get pegged as having a bad attitude and your annual bonus/merit increase will suffer for it. Women in leadership positions are few and far between. Even more so with the recent restructuring and layoff announcements. Good luck advancing if you're not a bro. Particularly when they've done away with in-role promotions. You have to apply internally for any kind of advancement opportunity and the process is a black box, you don't get any justification for not being selected for an interview and a canned HR response if you get a turndown. With the recently announced 3 year restructure, they're moving all software engineering & related roles overseas. D&T at General Mills is a sinking ship, get out while you can.
