Pros
I left my prior job to work at FDM Group because I was looking to build a career in the area that I received my college degree in. I knew a job in this position's field would excite me and allow me to feel purposeful and useful within the company. Immediately upon being interviewed, I realized that FDM is unlike many other global companies. FDM holds certain values that align with my own, such as the importance of increasing the percentage of women in STEM roles around the world, and the importance of providing opportunities for our country's veterans. These values alone set FDM apart from other companies--it shows that they truly care not just for their employees, but for their fellow citizens. Apart from their external reputation, internally, FDM is a wonderful place to work. Everyone is extremely friendly, and you might have three separate conversations with people from different departments just on your way to the coffee machine. FDM is also always planning events for their employees in order to promote camaraderie amongst the different departments. Parties, potlucks, and interactive activities that always result in fun prizes. They also are not shy about rewarding good work - there have tons of ways to win recognition and perks for doing well in your role and achieving goals. What more could one want?! The trainers get to know the trainees so well, and care for them as if they are family members. They watch their trainees grow into successful, mature individuals, and prepare them for the outside corporate world, and teach them how to take it on in a professional and respectful way--from the way they should dress on the job, to basic office etiquette. The trainers in the academies are also very knowledgeable and definitely qualified in their specific pathways and streams. I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to work in such a lovely, team-focused environment, with people that make me realise how great the workweek can actually be.
Cons
If you can't stay on your toes and work well within teams this might take some adjustment, but employees are always willing to show you what needs to be done.
