Pros

Ridiculously high pay Great benefits RRSP match SDO (one scheduled day off every month/free day off) 3 weeks vacation Free food at meetings

Cons

-Working in a cubicle, very close quarters, difficult environment to work in -Very competitive environment (people put others down in order for themselves to step up). Its so competitive people are more worried about their own power trip then they are about getting the work done. That really bothered me, people weren't going to work with the attitude of getting the work done, instead it was an attitude of "what do I need to do to climb the corporate ladder today." -Very hierarchical, its all about title -Very slow and bureaucratic, takes FOREVER for anything to happen, everyone has to have their say on the smallest change. Very difficult to see tangible progress on work, which is an extremely demotivating environment. -Because of recent growth there are a lot of young, inexperienced managers. They are not doing a good job of managing their employees because they just don't have the skill set. -Such a big organization its difficult to have a close knit environment -A lot of managers have an attitude "we'll do it this way because this is the way we've always done it" rather than interest in improving things -Managers don't want help from other areas as its seen as "stepping on toes" or some attempt to work your way into their territory. Managers are very territorial so there is little to no collaboration between groups. Very negative attitude to have. Makes for poor culture. Additionally it means the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Sometimes people in different groups are doing the exact same work and no one has any idea. There's no coordination because people don't want to work together. They see it as a threat to their power. Just a really poor and stupid attitude, sets a bad example for all the employees looking up to management. -Career opportunities are good only if you know the right people, if you suck up to management you can move ahead

Pros

Great local coworkers who care about their work and support one another. Strong regional culture with many dedicated and capable people. Decent benefits and valuable experience in a large organization. Local teams have continued to perform well through significant change.

Cons

Micromanagement exists across too many levels of the organization, which slows progress and hurts morale. Corporate leadership often feels disconnected from regional teams and does not always communicate changes clearly or effectively. Decisions that impact U.S.-based employees can lack context, transparency, or understanding of local realities. There also appears to be a gap in workplace culture and management style between headquarters and regional operations. While local teams remain strong, broader leadership issues create unnecessary frustration and make it harder for people to do their jobs well.
