Pros

Flexibility to allow balance for work and family. Bonus structure is good as long as you are within a profitable office. Benefits are above average in comparison to other professional jobs within our area.

Cons

As others stated, you must have a good working relationship with your FA to thrive. Would be very difficult to work in a two-person office if respect and consideration are not there between both parties. Pay is not as a great as one would expect for the knowledge we are to comprehend, as well as all regulations to be followed. As another noted, Client Service Excellence is heavily weighed on the BOA. Takes a certain type of person to sit in a quiet office of one for 8 hours a day. Have to admit, this is starting to wear on me after a couple of years. I like what I do. However, I often have quite a bit of down time, though we are a profitable office. I am finding myself searching the employment ads for something more gratifying and fulfilling.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
