Great independence but training feels rushed - Financial Advisor Edward Jones Employee Review

Pros

You get to be your own boss and essentially start your own business. If you have no experience and seem like you'd be a good fit they'll consider you. If they hire you they'll pay for you to get fully certified and go through a training program. They start you off with a base salary that tapers off over 5 years as commissions are expected to grow.

Cons

The training program seems rushed and it's easy to feel unprepared once you actually start doing the job. Also, starting your own business is really difficult.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
