Pros
Usually great starting pay Excellent benefits (3 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick leave, fantastic health insurance, paid parental leave, reimbursement accounts, 6% 401k match) Much more ethical than most companies I've experienced Took covid much more seriously than most corporations Extraordinarily serious about diversity and inclusivity; I've had many openly gay and trans coworkers and they were treated the same as everyone else Usually good about leaving work at work, for individual contributors
Cons
Management constantly changes the KPI goalposts (sometimes every month) Minimal internal communication and coordination between departments Extremely fast-paced, extremely high stress environment Nearly impossible to escape your initial role; a common joke you'll hear is that the best way to be promoted is to quit and re-apply in 6 months Pay doesn't keep up with the market; it's common for new hires to be making significantly more than the company veterans
