Pros
Decent pay for the region Good perks/benefits Job security
Cons
Overworked/under appreciated (besides low effort “swag” boxes and sonic drinks/food when the office was open. Dell was a dream job 2 years ago. Since then, some senior managers have have completely fumbled the Tech Support side of the org. I can’t say much for the other departments, but Dell has redirected all TS resources from training, investing in its employees, and doing what’s right for the customer towards micromanagement, new projects that fail/make all frontline/L2 positions more difficult, and “globalizing” for a reason that could only be cheaper labor costs. The only redeemable qualities about Dell Tech Support as of Jan 2022 are the qualities that make you feel like you can’t find anything better. Unless you want a job with no autonomy, minimal intellectual stimulation, and a non-working “tool” for everything that you’re forced by metrics to use, don’t settle on Dell Tech Support, there’s much better out there.
