Pros
DELL Legacy is probably a better place to be down in Round Rock. IF not and your one of the many businesses bought by Dell you are treated as a step child.
Cons
Dell at first when purchased us it was understood there reasons. Michael Dell had a vision to provide end to end solutions, so he purchased different aspects of IT to be able to. The next goal is to break down the internal barriers to stream line business unit inter-operability. However this part never happened. So as more time went by and nothing really changed, all the business units kept running autonomously as they did. So no improvements occurred. i.e. I thought we could benfit on the services side to take advantage of their Security offerings, software offers, and training on Dell HW. However none of this ever happened. We become more constrained than ever before and was limited on ability to make things happen (hampered) budgets for training taken away, ease to expense taken away, ability to take risks and grow was hampered by light restrictive policies we had never seen before in the Perot days. A big push to offshore and near shore. We were keeping a small percentage of US based on the teams to sustain QA however after the announcement to sell us to NTT Data they the pushed hard to offshore more eliminating the remaining US folks on our account to better their bottom line before the sell transaction takes place. There is becoming a real issue with quality of services now since they are trying hard to do things as cheap as possible.
