Pros

The benefits available to staff, are quite good we get 5% when we buy co-op's own brand products in addition to the 10% colleague discount. The store I worked in was relatively small like most co-ops are and the team becomes very close and friendly with each other like a family which is nice.

Cons

It is the lowest paying supermarket for the front line workers and is not enough to survive on if a person worked full time. The training given to progress is very selective and based on favoritism rather than talent.

Pros

Team got on well, hours weren't particularly harsh (pay not particularly impressive either)

Cons

Overworked due to corporate ruthlessly cutting hours (while hiring more staff?), generally piling on more and more work to the store team without considering time constraints, absolutely no opportunity for advancement while a store manager is already there
