It has been extremely disappointing watching the company devolve from a fantastic, innovative, supportive environment to what feels like a generic 9 to 5 environment where people just show up and management is watching every move. Everyone has been reeling from the layoffs earlier in the year and now the 5 day RTO mandate just feels like a kick while everyone is already down. I know people did it before the pandemic, but we found there was a better way that still allowed everyone to do their work while finally being able to get a bit more balance with life. How does forcing everyone back every working day show any Study and Draw Inspiration from Technology? And how about Activate Caring? Employees with children who could use the couple extra hours a day of commuting doing family things instead have now been denied that with no negotiation. Never mind the impact on the environment that forcing thousands of cars back onto the roads on a daily basis will have. Customer Obsession will suffer too with everyone stressed about having to regress their quality of life. I can't comprehend how the benefits of a move like this outweigh the costs. The only thing that makes sense is that this is what happens to growing, innovative companies when they stop growing and become old dinosaurs that just cling to how things were done in the past.
