Pros
Overall I really believe in the company and what it is trying to do. - You really do get to work on a lot of cool stuff. However (and this could be seen as con) understand that this is a hardware company first, technology company second. - The people that you work for are really really smart. I learned a lot from my day to day interactions. - Good benefits. I enjoyed using the Apple gym and the cafes are wonderful.
Cons
- As mentioned above, Apple is much more a hardware company than a software company. If you are looking to innovate and constantly try something new, this isn't likely a place you'll be 100% happy at. - This comment is organization dependent and is something that I have heard from long time Apple employees has only recently changed. My personal experiences is that leadership is very homogenous and is filled with "yes" men. Fit in or they will push you out and claim you did not fit "Apple culture". To this day I still have no idea what my senior managers did on a day to day basis other than saying "yes" in meetings to directors, even if those comments were in contrast to their own comments/beliefs in meetings with no leadership. - My experiences were that a handful of people do the work. Everybody else is bureaucracy and about who can kiss up the best. Overall as somebody who has worked at multiple FAANG companies my experience at Apple was the worst. I acknowledge that people seemed happier at other organizations. I would recommend doing research on the organization you are looking to join (some orgs require a simple google search to find out what the culture is like).
