I worked at Apple (More than a year)

    Pros

The discount is nice and the benefits are pretty good. You get the training on the job, they provide everything you need.

    Cons

Cult mentality, you better LOVE Apple. Like any othher retail job it can get stressful as hell. Especially during the holidays

    Advice to Management

Nothing really, management is pretty accommodating

I worked at Apple part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Apple Inc. on a large corporate level is doing well. This success includes things like increasing revenue, value of shares, new store openings, and products. Head of retail, Angela, has mentioned Apple retail stores being the company's largest products. Even as a retail employee, you are a valuable asset to the human side of the Apple brand. There are opportunities to meet interesting customers and at times, enrich their life with an Apple product. My most memorable interaction is showcasing accessibility features of the iPhone to a vision-impaired customer. Features like VoiceOver allow blind individuals to use and benefit from everyday functions like navigating Safari, reading and responding to messages, or sending emails. Compensation is at the high end of retail in regard to hourly wages and benefits.

    Cons

With the company doing so well, there is an ever increasing volume of customers that visit the store and because of this, you will often finish your shift feeling exhausted from the "multi-tasking" that management often encourages. Working in retail is tough in any company however, there seems to be a general decline in treatment of staff (e.g., micro-mangement) by current "Leaders" that leaves workers feeling disconnected from the original company culture that used to empower employees and make them feel valued. It is a tough grind without the support of a good management team anywhere but especially in a fast paced environment like Apple Retail where service standards are very high.

    Advice to Management

Management must be under pressure to behave the way they do whether they realize it or not. Your people are your most valuable resource. Realistically, I don't expect management to take advice from a Glassdoor review, but I would recommend taking a step back to evaluate how you interact with your team and ask yourself when the last time you had a meaningful and genuine conversation or feedback.
