Pros

- Received training using Powered Pallet Trucks - Quick to start working - Paid weekly - A lot of good folk working there

Cons

Where to begin? - Permanant contracts are used as incentives to work hard even though you're in competition with over 2000 employees and only 100 Permanant contracts will be awarded. - Agency reps will be on your back constantly about idle time and score percentages. If you don't scan an item within a certain timeframe (as little as 15 minutes) expect a visit and telling off from your rep. - Amazon management will also get on at you about targets and idle time. They see you as a minion not worthy of the job. You'll be crucified if you sit down for 5 minutes to catch your breath during a 10 hours shift of walking. - You'all be assigned targets that won't necessarily be attainable. - You won't receive sick pay. - You'll be forced to work 60 hour weeks for a month as contracted. They will also extend this indefinitely if they don't make up their targets. Say goodbye to your social life and good luck getting anything done on your day off as it's often a Sunday. - If you drive then expect to wait up to 30 minutes during the peak season to get out of the car park. - You will be exempt from reward incentives and most types of training as you're technically not an Amazon employee - you're just a lowly agency worker. - Lunch break lasts only 30 minutes and in the cafe you won't have mobile reception or 3G. WiFi is supplied but it's so slow that loading a single webpage can take up your whole break. - Try not to get attached to your colleagues as people are paid off and sacked daily for not meeting targets, too much idle time, too much backbone yada yada yada - You may or may not be paid on time each week. It's a hit or a miss - truly! - I also received multiple texts multiple times about not being at work (turns out they weren't meant to have been sent to me and they seemed to be unable to sort the problem out) - After 12 weeks of work your hourly rate rises by 20p an hour. Many people will be let go just before this happens however.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
