Cons
The company continues to actively drive engineer attrition by making this a bad place to work. Quality of life has worsened significantly over the last three years, and most employees in our org who are not locked in to amazon as as their visa sponsor have left. The C suite wants to operate like "the world's biggest startup", but doesn't offer startup upside and doesn't staff adequately to support innovation. Hiring is still effectively frozen, and highly qualified employees have limited opportunities for career growth. If you want the startup experience, this is not your opportunity. Marketing hype about AI replacing jobs is still just talk for the shareholders. We are not staffed or tooled up to deliver innovation or even good customer experiences, because the company has chosen to spend on capex instead.
