Pros
They do lots of events to engage employees. They give us lunches, treats, goodies etc at random. They have a good 401k plan. Their health and welfare benefits aren't all that great but okay. Better than nothing. One of the pros used to be flexible working arrangements but they are moving away from that. Previously employees used to get 2 days to work at home but that is changing quickly and no longer allowed.
Cons
Management sends out way too many unnecessary emails. There is no proper training and structure. You are given minimum training and then left in the blind to figure your way out. Everyone has their own way of doing things. There's no "right" answer per se. Now when companies are moving towards flexible working arrangements, they are moving away from it because a few people took advantage of it. They should have taken action on those people instead of spoiling this perk for everyone. There are people keeping an eye on you as if almost taking attendance every day. Somedays it still feels like being in school instead of at a grown up work place. They are even offering lower and lower starting salaries while increasing the workload. I was hired to do just benefits and hr. Now all implementation consultants are doing hr, benefits, recruitment, performance, compensation and ACA. All of this comes with no increase in pay which is ridiculous. Way too much for one individual to handle, especially the newcomers. They train you on everything at once in 6 weeks and then throw you in to just figure it out yourself. Everyone is so lost. If employees don't know what they are talking about and not comfortable with the job, how will the clients be?
